first fall at our new farm

Dear Readers,

We had a truly great first fall at our new farm!

Thanks to loving customers, friends, and our plucky team, we sent thousands of blooms out into the world. We packed the truck full of buckets every day for 8 weeks. It has been a ton of harvest, sometimes right up to the last minute!

After harvest, we put the flowers in our walk-in cooler for safekeeping overnight. I pulled orders according to invoices, and then they the orders went out into our delivery van. We drove to DC and Baltimore each twice a week!

We did our last wedding the third week of October, a light frost nipped us, and now we’re settling into a slower pace. As we cut mums and cabbage from our fall greenhouse, the hustle of dahlia season already seems a distant memory.
