Consultations
One-on-one mentorship has changed my business more than any other kind of learning.
My mentors have inspired major changes in my business over the years. It is not an exaggeration to say I’d be lost without them!
Mentoring others is also so fulfilling for me. Being able to pass on specialized knowledge to those ready to learn is rewarding, and I often get inspired by my mentees just as much as they do by me! I consult with aspiring, beginning, and advanced growers. Topics include:
Working with florists
Making the farm more efficient
Season extension
DIY bucket offerings
Customer communication
Crop planning
Basics for a new farm
Infrastructure necessities
And more!
How it Works
I always start with a 15 minute phone call (free) to get a sense of what topics you're hoping to address, and to make sure we're a good mentor/mentee fit.
After our introductory call, we’ll set a date and time for either video or in-person chat. I like to prepare a bit for my consults, so I might have some "homework" for you to complete so that I can be best prepared for our conversations- for example, sending me a map of your property, your business plan, or if you're not that far along yet, a paragraph or two about your hopes and dreams for the farm.
Consults start at $250/hr and are typically on Zoom. Local farm visits are billed the same, plus standard mileage and 1/2 the consulting fee for travel time. Email me at butterbeefarm@gmail.com for more details!
Testimonials
“My consultation experience exceeded expectations! Working with Laura Beth was amazing! She created a warm and comfortable space to ask questions, problem solve, and explore challenges. I was so impressed with how prepared she was and how well she understood our questions. She provided extremely detailed feedback, full of practical tips to implement. She generously shared examples from her experiences and took the time to work through how that would translate to our farm. I cannot recommend her consultation services highly enough.” Renee Pepin, Branch & Thorn Flower Farm, Windsor VT
“Of all the flower farmer education I’ve sought out, this was by far the most personal, interactive and the biggest value. Just as valuable as the information Laura Beth shares on the subject is her willingness to share the insights and hard-learned lessons.” Tenille Enger, Lucky Clover Flowers, Traverse City MI
"Laura Beth is a great communicator and very supportive. She answers my questions thoroughly and keeps an efficient pace so we can make the most of our time and money. Being able to talk with someone who is more experienced in cut flower farming than I am, is vital in growing my business. I feel that I have made a new friend and am looking forward to our next consultation.” Molly McCleary, Maypop Flower Farm, Neosho MO
