Financials can be fun!
Most farmers come to this work because we love being outside, with our hands in the dirt. Money stuff is not fun for many of us because it requires spreadsheets and math, and even worse, it’s really hard to monetize this thing we love so much.
After this class, the money side of things will seem more manageable, and not only that, but a fun part of doing business! You will learn:
Funding options for new farmers
Butterbee’s funding and growth from year 1 to year 8
Keeping track of your ingoing and outgoing money using some simple tools
What farmers should be doing in the office year round
You’ll get a virtual tour of Buttebee’s financial spreadsheets, and a physical tour of the farm.
Logistics: We’re keeping this class small at 8 farmers, so come ready to ask your questions; we can all benefit from troubleshooting each others’ issues. Class will be held in an intimate setting in our home. Coffee and tea will be provided. We cannot accommodate cancellations or refunds due to the limited class size. This is an adults-only class.
Kind Words about our Workshops:
-There's nothing more helpful or re-energizing in the midst of July burn-out than getting to talk shop with your flower growing heroes!
-Laura Beth energy is contagious and I walked away thinking that focusing on the blooms was far more important than obsessing about a weed-free field. Liberating!
-Laura Beth is so open with everything about her business - the good, the ugly, the nitty-gritty details - which is something you can't get from a reading a book!
-You cannot put a price on seeing another farmer's operation from the inside. Laura Beth's openness and willingness to share information were invaluable.
