Our tunnels opened the door to a whole new world of quality, from Mother’s Day ranunculus to eucalyptus that touches the roof! This online class will cover it all: successes, embarrassing mistakes, and everything in between.
Learn our approach to growing in our unheated tunnels. Get a clear picture of what goes on behind the scenes before each season starts, include our approach to crop planning in our tunnels using a series of maps. Topics will include building great soil, seed starting in unheated tunnels, cover cropping and mulching, aphids, voles, and botrytis, crop timings, winter maintenance, and more! Guest speaker Mimo Davis, owner of Urban Buds, will join us for Q and A. We keep our classes small so that participants can ask questions and participate in the conversation.

Kind Words about Growing in High Tunnels:
I just attended Butterbee Farm’s Growing in High tunnels Class and can’t recommend it enough. Of all the flower farmer education I’ve sought out, this was by far the most personal, interactive and the biggest value. Just as valuable as the information Laura Beth shares on the subject is her willingness to share the insights and hard-learned lessons.
-Lucky Clover Flowers
This was my third class taught by Laura Beth, and each one is as informative as the last. Laura Beth has a way of presenting information that is transparent, easy to digest, and practical. Much of flower growing is experimental in nature, and Laura Beth is never afraid to cover the good, the bad, and the ugly - which makes it seem like we are not alone in the trials and tribulations of growing! This class will give you applicable techniques that will help you avoid beginner mistakes and save time in the learning process of growing in tunnels.
-Winters Farm Florals
The high tunnel class from Butterbee Farm was the perfect way to start the growing season. Laura Beth was incredibly gracious with sharing her experiences over the years, both successes and challenges. I felt an incredible sense of community learning from her, as well as guest speaker Mimo and the other participants. Thank you Laura Beth and team for leaving me inspired to get growing in our tunnel and just go for it!— with careful planning of course ;)
-Frayed Knot Farm
Laura Beth gave an incredibly well-planned and well-articulated class. She generously shared all she's learned over years of experience, mistakes she's made, and improvements she's moving towards. The presentation was relaxed yet professional; since Laura Beth took questions throughout, we felt connected to everyone in attendance. Mimo & Laura Beth seamlessly co-taught, and it was very valuable to hear two different farmers' perspectives on things. I am excited to implement the things I learned!

More anonymous feedback for our High Tunnels Class:
Very thorough and informative. Detailed crop plans for different seasons and pest management information was especially helpful. Thank you for a great class!
This course was packed with helpful information for those getting started growing in high tunnels and Laura Beth was great at making sure everyone's questions were answered. I would definitely recommend this course.
