the best dahlia season ever
Dear Readers,
We could all use a little good news right now, right?
It was truly the best dahlia season I’ve ever seen.
A bug free, long, cool fall was just the ticket for a bounty of blooms.
We all get really loopy when harvesting in the dahlias. It’s just so glorious to be surrounded by all this color.
Frost will take these beauties away from us. But new dahlias will come next year, and the next year, and the year after that.
That’s the great lesson of nature, and of flowers: all things change.
I wish you a last bouquet from the garden before we settle into winter, where other joys abound- like hot cups of tea, the warmest socks, and a little holiday spirit.
