spring happens fast
Dear Readers,
Julie took these photos just a couple of weeks ago, and already it’s changed so much!
This red ranunculus was the first to bloom. Now, champagne is in full swing, and deep violet and pale pastels are coming next week too.
It was our first ever sweet pea season (okay, I tried them once in the field years ago but it went so badly that I don’t count it). I’m thrilled with the stem length on these hot pink ruffled blooms!
Not everything goes as planned though- the Fullstar Anemone (on the right below) is a little too short and dainty for my taste.
Since this is only our second season growing in the winter, we’re doing our best to pay attention and approach everything as an experiment.
Two weeks ago, our stock was still green. Now, it’s ready for harvest in a rainbow of colors. Things happen fast in Springtime!
Our Seed Starting class is just around the corner, grab your spot now as we’re almost sold out! And, our Plant Sale for your Cutting Garden is coming up on May 2nd. Save some room in your gardens and on your calendars!
I wish you all a deliciously hot morning coffee! Time to go harvest ranunculus…
Laura Beth
P.S. Shout out to Julie Hove Anderson, who took these photos and who we are grateful to know!
